Thibaut Vuillin fell in love with films very early on and knew since he was a child that he would make a career in this industry. Like every kid born in the 80s, he grew up watching Spielberg and Lucas movies while learning the drums and the piano and playing in his local orchestra his favorite John Williams’ scores.
He graduated in 3D animation and VFX from Artfx Montpellier in 2009 after studying computer programming and electronics. During his third year of studies at Artfx, he got to direct his first short film: “Metropolitan,” an animated film starring some of the most famous French voice actors: Philippe Catoire, Jean-Pierre Michaël,…
This experience really reinforced his passion for storytelling and directing.
He worked in different companies and as an independent in the advertisement industry for more than ten years. He directed on set ads but also corporate films. This enabled him to master all the technical aspects of a film, from lighting to color grading and cinematography as a whole.
He also directed and produced CG ads and continued to develop his skills and expertise in directing, compositing, lighting, VFX and editing from a post-production point of view.
In 2017, he founded Stim Studio, a production, advertisement and 3D animation company. Stim Studio grew up very quickly with up to 35 employees, and some major projects such as the animated feature film :
The Amazing Maurice.
During the last two years at Stim Studio, he produced, directed and supervised four animated short films. One of them, Witches is a modern tale on femicide and women’s rights combining classic 3D animation with live action cinematography. He collaborated with talented voice actors: Damien Laquet, Mathilde Dhondt, Cristelle Ledroit and Miroslav Pilon sound studio (Lyon, France).
Thibaut also composed Witches’ film score using his background as a musician.
After almost six years at Stim Studio, he decided to follow his own path in the film industry as a writer, producer and hopefully feature film director.
“The ultimate goal for me is to write and direct compelling stories and to share it with the audience.”
